There are seven main chakras in our physical energy body, each one governing the organs, muscles, and bones of that area of the body. In addition to this, each Chakra is responsible for an aspect of our emotional and mental health. In order to maintain an optimum level of health and overall well-being, we need to keep the energies flowing freely through the Chakras. Restrictions in one part of the energy body can have an adverse effect on other areas. For example, an imbalance, or a blockage in the energy flowing through the Heart Chakra can lead to low mood, lethargy, lack of interest in other people’s welfare and depression. An open and healthy Heart Chakra promotes feelings of goodwill, empathy, and personal joy.
